Rizq: A Blessing Meant to Be Shared

In Islam, Rizq is more than just wealth, it is everything we receive from Allah, from the food on our table to the opportunities that shape our lives. It’s our sustenance, health, knowledge, and even the people we meet. And most importantly, it’s not just about what we earn, but what we give.
Rizq Comes in Many Forms
When we think of Rizq, we often associate it with financial wealth, but Islam teaches us that it extends far beyond money. It includes:
- Food: Every meal we enjoy is a provision from Allah.
- Time: The hours in our day, the moments we spend with loved ones, and even the time we dedicate to helping others.
- Health: Our ability to move, work, and serve is a form of Rizq.
- Knowledge: What we learn and pass on to others is a sustenance of the mind and soul.
Rizq Increases When Shared
One of the most beautiful aspects of Rizq is that it is not diminished by giving, it increases. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
“Charity does not decrease wealth.” (Sahih Muslim 2588)
Generosity is one of the ways Rizq grows. When we give, whether through food, time, or knowledge, we open doors for even greater blessings in return.
At Project Ramadan, we believe that access to food is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Every food basket we assemble is an act of sharing Rizq, ensuring that families in need can break their fasts with dignity and nourishment.
How You Can Be a Part of It
During this Ramadan, reflect on your Rizq and how you can use it to uplift others. Here’s how you can start:
- Donate: Help us provide essential food baskets to families in need.
- Volunteer: Join us at our build events and be part of the change.
- Spread Awareness: Share our mission with friends and family, because knowledge is also Rizq!
May our Rizq always be a means of bringing us closer to Allah and to each other.
