Student Engagement & Fundraising Coordinator

Attendance:  Build Days & Special Events  +  Weekly Meetings (virtual / in-person)
Hours Commitment: ~2-4 hrs per week for meetings and tasks, plus 7-10 hrs event days

 

Description

Project Ramadan is seeking a Student Engagement & Fundraising Coordinator to join our team. This volunteer role involves driving student engagement and fundraising efforts across school communities. The coordinator will build relationships with schools and student groups, promote volunteer opportunities, organize outreach activities, and support student-led fundraising initiatives such as donation drives, bake sales, and peer-to-peer campaigns.

 

Responsibilities

  • Promote Project Ramadan’s mission, events, and volunteer opportunities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with schools, student groups, and educators
  • Organize outreach opportunities such as school visits, presentations or tabling
  • Identify, coordinate and support student-led fundraising initiatives (e.g. bake sales, donation drives, peer-to-peer campaigns)
  • Help students set up fundraising pages and track progress
  • Collaborate with our marketing team to create campaign materials and promotional content
  • Develop an award system for top fundraising teams 
  • Recruit and support student volunteers and ambassadors
  • Track engagement and fundraising metrics to report impact
  • Develop and maintain budgets, ensuring resources are used efficiently

 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in youth engagement, fundraising or campaign coordination is an asset
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to network and be comfortable with reaching out to potential contacts (cold-calling, cold-emailing, meeting new people, visiting school locations etc.) 
  • Ontario G driver’s license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Creative and resourceful problem solver
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for the organization’s mission and the ability to convey it effectively to schools, students and educators
  • Have network of contacts within the community is an asset
