Board Member

“In the almost 10 years of working in Project Ramadan, I admire it’s unique ability to bring the community together to combat food insecurity right here at home. It’s so rare to be able to engage all ages, from kids to grandparents, in community work where you can see the direct impact on our own community here in Toronto. It’s the true definition of grassroots and I’m honoured to be a part of the team.”

“Helping people in need has always been my passion as it teaches gratitude and PR has given me the opportunity to reach people within our community. Additionally, I am proud to be a member of PR because of its mission to serve, regardless of race, culture and religion  because that’s what Islam is all about!”

“Joining Project Ramadan felt like a natural fit for me, as I’ve always been passionate about supporting those in need. What I love about PR is how it unites people to address issues like food insecurity in a meaningful way. Volunteering with PR has not only deepened my sense of purpose but also connected me with a community of like-minded individuals who share a commitment to making a real impact.”

Maheen

Executive Member

“I joined Project Ramadan because we each have the responsibility of leaving this world better than we found it. May Allah put barakah in PR’s work!”

Sadia

Executive Member

“I am a practicing social worker supporting vulnerable families in our community, and I see firsthand the challenges of meeting basic needs in today’s economy. I joined Project Ramadan to help address food insecurity and bring people together. What I love most about PR is the sense of purpose it creates—not just for those we support but for everyone involved. Volunteering with PR has shown me how small acts of kindness can lead to profound change, fostering hope and unity in our communities.”

Aarij

Executive Member

“I started volunteering with Project Ramadan in 2021 and I have been to almost every build since then. This year, as a part of the executive team, I hope to continue the fight against food insecurity in the GTA & beyond.”
